I still cherish this photo dearly. I had been invited to speak about space and STEM in front of hundreds of high school girls at Loreto. Excitement buzzed in the air, but my plans took an unexpected turn: I didn’t have a babysitter.
As I prepared to present, my youngest clung to me, refusing to leave my arms. Her older sister, determined not to miss out on this special moment, stood proudly beside me. At that moment, I realized that I wasn’t just there to inspire those girls; I was showing my own daughters the power of perseverance.
When I stepped onto the stage, I took a deep breath, looking out at the sea of eager faces. I spoke passionately about the wonders of space and the endless possibilities within STEM fields. My daughters watched as I shared my journey, my challenges, and my triumphs.
I’m sure that day left an impact on everyone present, including my children. They learned an important lesson: nothing can stop women from changing the world. Whether it’s balancing family and career or pursuing dreams in male-dominated fields, determination knows no bounds.
